The Dark Light Directed by Vernon Sewell Produced by Michael Carreras Anthony Hinds Written by Vernon Sewell Starring Albert Lieven David Greene Norman Macowan Music by Frank Spencer Cinematography Moray Grant Edited by Francis Bieber Production company Hammer Films Distributed by Exclusive Films (UK) Release date 23 April 1951 (UK) Running time 75 minutes Country United Kingdom Language English The Dark Light is a 1951 British thriller film directed by Vernon Sewell and starring Albert Lieven, David Greene, Norman Macowan. [1] It was filmed at a rented country estate in Gilston and on location around Portsmouth. [2] Contents 1 Synopsis 2 Cast 3 Critical reception 4 References 5 Bibliography 6 External links Synopsis [ edit] The crew of a lighthouse take in what they assume to be the survivors of a shipwreck, but who turn out to be criminals on the run after a bank robbery. Cast [ edit] Albert Lieven as Mark David Greene as Johnny Norman Macowan as Rigby Martin Benson as Luigi Jack Stewart as Matt Katharine Blake as Linda Joan Carol as Joan John Harvey as Roger John Longden as Stephen Critical reception [ edit] The Radio Times called it "dismal" writing that: ' Quota quickie ' veteran Vernon Sewell gets matters off to a promising start as a desperate gang of bank robbers are rescued from the stormy sea by a lighthouse crew. By tossing away the dramatic possibilities of the claustrophobic setting, however, he is unable to sustain more than a modicum of tension as the crew begin scheming to keep the swag for themselves, rather than let justice take its course. December 8, 2019 December 8, 2019 Dark Light, Ed Brody, Gerald Tyler, Horror Movie, Jessica Madsen, Kristina Clifford, Monster Movie, Movie Review, Opal Littleton, Padraig Reynolds, Vertical Entertainment A young mother returns to the family home after a series of misfortunes. In this case the breakup of her marriage, the death of her mother and a nervous breakdown. She simply wants a new start for her and her daughter but fate isn’t going to let that happen. It’s a common enough setup for a film and it’s what Padraig Reynolds (Rites Of Spring, Open 24 Hours) uses for his new film Dark Light. The recent past has taken a toll on Annie (Jessica Madsen, Leatherface, Rambo: Last Blood). Dealing with her mother’s illness and death along with the knowledge her husband was cheating on her caused a breakdown. Recovered and with custody of her daughter Emily (Opal Littleton), she’s moved into her mother’s now empty house. Or maybe it isn’t so empty. From the start, strange things happen and Annie is convinced she sees something in the house and the cornfields behind it. Something that wants her daughter. The local sheriff (Kristina Clifford, Butt Boy) is dubious. When Emily goes missing and Annie’s ex (Ed Brody) ends up on the wrong end of a shotgun blast she’s taken into custody. When the police van crashes she’s given a chance to escape and find her daughter at all costs. The first part of Dark Light is told in flashbacks as Annie is interrogated. This gets a bit confusing at times. Annie and the sheriff seem to transport from the interrogation room to other locations. After she escapes the film settles into a more normal structure. She consults Walter Simms (Gerald Tyler, The Lighthouse) an alleged expert on local strange events and at this point, the film shifts gears again. It goes from ghost story to monster movie with only a few lines of dialogue. Or possibly to the delusions of a homicidal madwoman as the authorities think. Unfortunately Dark Light has some gaping holes in its narrative. Just what are these underground creatures and why do they need human children? Why do doors open and close themselves, are the creatures telekinetic? Why is there a cache of weapons and large denomination bills under the floor of the house’s bedroom? There’s also way too much that we’ve seen before. The monster hiding in the back seat. All of the main players coincidentally ending up back at the house for the climactic showdown. The escape from the creature’s lair that evokes Aliens. And the sequel ready final shot. The creatures themselves are fairly nasty looking. All mouth and a huge glowing eye where their face should be. They resemble something that stalked out of an Italian Alien rip off. And they’re realized with practical effects too, actor Weston Meredith in a monster suit. That might make Dark Light worthwhile for monster buffs. For me though Dark Light just never really gets going. It looks good and it’s not boring, but it’s never overly exciting either. The elements are there, it all just lacks the spark to set it off. Dark Light is available to stream from Vertical Entertainment. DARK LIGHT Trailer (2019) Horror Movie Summary Reviewer Jim Morazzini Review Date 2019-12-08 Reviewed Item Dark Light Author Rating 3.

45 Minutes; Ratings=9,3 of 10 star; Star=Matt Smith; info=The further adventures in time and space of the alien adventurer known as the Doctor and their companions from planet Earth; 190982 Votes. NuWho is amazing and Dr Who is my favourite show ever lets break down each era.
Christopher Eccleston era the era that started it all for me and were I started watching Dr who which makes this era so Nostalgic for me with great episodes like Dalek and Empty Child and Doctor Dances.
However this is my least favourite era overall in NuWho just simply because it hasn't aged that well and he only did one season so I find it hard to get attached to this Dr personally I do respect Eccleston alot for bringing back the show and without this season we wouldn't have it but I enjoy 10th 11th 12th era's overall just my opinion.
However there are some great moments in this season and the first time I ever saw a Dalek is a memory I will have forever and it scared me alot.
The first time I saw inside the TARDIS I've never been more thrilled and it still gets me every season.
I love the Badwolf story arc and it's definitely one of my favourites I also love the introduction to Captain Jack one of the coolest characters ever on Tv.
There are some underrated episodes in this season like Father's Day and I don't think Unquiet Death gets enough love.
However im not a big fan of the Slitheen two parter just abit to silly for me which didn't suit this era and I much prefer Boom Town.
My favourite episode is definitely Dalek some of the best acting in any of Dr who in my opinion and the first time we saw the Dr be scared and abit of his bad side which made me like this character more.
I was really disappointed that Eccleston left although the introduction for new fans to regeneration was very interesting and very shocking to see for the first time.
The David Tennant era of Doctor Who I love this era Tennant still remains my favourite doctor of all time and will always be my Doctor even though I do prefer more stories in Matt's era.
However this does have some great stories and some excellent moments in Dr Who history I love Season 4 it's definitely my season of NuWho and there isnt a single bad episode in that season.
It also sees the return of some classic Dr Who characters Like the Sontarans and I love the new design It also brings back Davros who is a Dr who legend and his amazing in this season finale in Season 4.
This era brings back the Master for the first time played by John Simm who I think is brilliant in the role and plays a really sinister Master.
However this era does my least favourite companion in Martha wasn't really an interesting character in my opinion.
The era also has some really bad episodes like Love and Monsters and Fear her.
I love the way they bring back the Cybermen in this season really interesting origin story for them and a cool design.
Very upsetting saying goodbye to Rose at the end of season 2.
This season also has my favourite companion of NuWho which is Donna such a cool character and the companion that in my opinion has the best story arc in Doctor Who.
We also meet my favourite character for the first time River Song in a two part story which is amazing.
I also love specials from David and these are he's best episodes such a great way to end his era and the first time a TV show had me crying when he left David will always be my favourite Doctor and just a great era.
My moment in Tennants run his definitely the Timelord Victorious scene in Waters of Mars such well acted moment by him.
My second favourite era in NuWho the Matt Smith era I love this era and this Doctor is my second favourite Doctor in all Dr Who after David Tennant.
The Stories in this era are just amazing and definitely think Matt has the best overall story arcs in the New series of Doctor Who I love the story of River Song and The Silence in Season 6 which is my second favourite season in NuWho.
Matt's era also has some of my favourite stuff in it I think he the best Sonic Screwdriver and his first TARDIS interior is my all time favourite I love it.
However I do think season 7 is definitely the weakest season in this era some episodes in that season I'm not a fan off like the Crimson Horror and Hide I've never really liked.
But I do think Asylum of the Daleks and Power of Three are very underrated.
My favourite episodes in this era is definitely Flesh and Stone and Time of Angels I love this episode and in my opinion it's better than Blink as it feels more like a Dr Who story.
There are so many great moments in this era my favourite being the Rings of Akkatan speech and the moment with Vincent Van Gogh in the meauseum is just perfect and really emotional.
The 50th anniversary episode is in this era and I think it's amazing I love everything about this episode love that we get to see stuff from the Time War and John Hurt as the war doctor is awesome and the Zygons came back and look incredible and the scene with Tom Baker is perfect for any Dr Who fan.
I also think Matt had the best acted regeneration scene his speech always gets me and it just make for a perfect end to a great era.
I also really like the twist that he is the last one in the first cycle really interesting twist and makes the overall story more complete for me.
The Peter Capaldi era of Doctor Who i love this era and think it is slightly underrated now i will admit that Season 9 is definitely the weakest season in this era and in NuWho in general and the Hybrid Story wasn't really that interesting in my opinion. However there some really great stories i love the whole of season 10 definitely one of my favourite seasons and i love the introduction of Bill and the fact they brought back the Original Cybermen which made me go back and watch the Tenth Planet.
i also really enjoy season 8 and thought it was a great way to kick off the era with great stories like Into a Dalek which is very interesting i also really enjoy Dark Water and Death in Heaven really like the idea with the Cybermen in thar story.
i love the introduction of Missy such a great twist on the character of the Master and she gets better each season in my opinion.
Now there things in this era which do my head in i hate the Sonic Sunglasses such a stupid idea which didnt work in my opinion, However i do love his Sonice Screwdriver he gets after Hell Bent.
Hell Bent is my least favourite episode of Dr Who ever just huge disappointment and the Doctor is way out of character in that and undermines Heaven Sent which is the best episode in this era in my opinion.
i also really love the the dalek two parter in season 9 just because the scenes with Davros and The Doctor are always great to watch and i love them.
Capaldi in my opinion had the best Christmas Special in the Husbands of River Song which ties in with when we first met her in a 10th doctor story and we get to see there last days on Delirium which was a great way to end the River Song story.
Verdict 9/10 great series and my all time favourite show a must watch for Sci-Fi fans.

Network free doctor who movies. 123 free doctor who. After seeing the first episode, which was quite dire IMHO, I noted that I'd give this series time to get going and I wasn't disappointed. It's almost over now and some of the episodes have really had an effect, particularly the ones with the Daleks. The characters are very ambiguous at times, adding that extra element of depth to the show not often seen today. An excellent blend of humour, frights, wit, tension and romance prevail in this mostly positive series, and the action and special effects are decent as well, considering that this is the BBC.
* Pseudo-Spoiler Warning. One problem I have is that the twists throughout the series are spoiled by the BBC and they have themselves to blame. How do they do this? At the end of each episode they show a preview of the next, giving the game away quite often. Particularly in the case of the episode previewing "Bad Wolf" where the twist is given out of context, but when the episode actually shows, we remember what we saw before and piece it all together before we actually see it. Also all that stuff about Eccleston leaving gives the end of the series away totally - well done guys.

When I finished the IMDB Top 250 I thought why not widen my perspective to include a more global selection. This is my personal diary & guidebook. The IMDB list is heavily slanted towards American movies and many of my favorites come from countries like Guinea-Bissau, Japan, Burkina Faso, Argentina, Taiwan, etc. So why not see at least one movie from every country in the world. I think it will be inspiring and perhaps even insightful, especially looking at films from the small countries like my own Estonia. There’s 193 countries at the UN so this is my geographic definition — but obviously I’m open for movies from other areas and here I’m already including places like the Gibraltar and Greenland that are not countries per se but do have a distinct (film) culture. I'm also including short films and documentaries because features were never made in a bunch of countries. So here goes my list in an alphabetic order. Others have attempted to select the best film from each country you can Google. I'm including at least one or more that I like. Where I have not seen a film yet (but you have) why not leave a suggestion on Twitter. The List Afghanistan Emaan (2011; Dir. Haris Yosufi) Albania The Forgiveness of Blood (2011; Dir. Release Date - 2020. USA. This is the best fusion performance by the professionals of DWTS Ireland and the stars of Riverdance for creating their own masterpiece. - ) - . Glad no dancer bit it because of that stupid fence lol.

I'll say this about Michael Flatley: God, he know's how to make an entrance. Billion Dollar Legs🕺👞👞. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐. I cry every time I see that wonderful dance! I love watching Riverdance the original 1095 @ the Point Theater in Dublin.

What a heart warming performance! That gets a 100 and sure the dancers are so in Sync making it a treat to the eyes. Bravo keep dancing and lighting up the Stage of LIFE. After a couple of minutes i get a bit bored.i think it could be the come all the women have the same hairstyle. Stop showing these terrible ads they have nothing to do with my interests. 4 out of 5 stars Verified Purchase Format: H. 264 The great story, characters, visuals, and so forth made this film incredibly memorable, as this movie will hold a special place in my heart.

At a time when Riverdance toured in the United States. Breathtaking. Damn now that's footwork man if he started stepping I'd follow him forever. MAGNIFIQUE ! J'en ai des frissons dans le dos tellement la musique et la danse sont belles. Me when Im in class and I need to pee. I agree I thought it was better as the original version because It totally takes away the irish dancing to it.

God your videos always amaze me! Such amazing footwork. Where's Michael Flatley. Hey! Roundtable Rival! D. DO all of you adoring idiots know that this whole River-dance show was lip synced even down to the sound of the feet dancing on the floor? Milli Vanilli would have been proud. Beauty, elegance, and depth all at once. I love this on soooooooooo many levels! Irish step, Lindsey Stirling, Roundtable Rival, Dancing with the Stars! swoons.

Ritmo ⚪ Sincronismo ⚪ Tecnca ⚪ Eleganza ⚪ Perfezione ⚪ ⚪ ⚪ Danza Celtica ⚪⚪. Never seen such beautiful Chinese girls 😍. 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏. I love Jean Butler since '96,when they came to NYC. beatiful and amazing. greetings from Peru. Yo quiero aprender. i wanna learn so badlyyyyyyyyy 😭😭😭. The new Riverdance 25th Anniversary Show From the rehearsal studios in Dublin, the current Riverdance cast look back to the same week, twenty five years ago when the first Riverdance show rehearsals took place in February 1995 Celebrating 25 years of Riverdance, from the interval act at the 1994 Eurovison Song Contest through two and a half decades of worldwide touring. Extra Questions, Notes, Assignment and study material for Class 9 th   Poem 2 Chapter- 7 CBSE English Communicative Literature Reader The Road Not Taken By- Robert Frost ABOUT THE POET- Robert Frost Robert Lee Frost (26 March 1874-29 January 1963) was an American poet born in San Francisco but he spent most of his adult life in rural New England. His work frequently employed themes from the early 1900s rural life in New England, U. S. A. Quite naturally, therefore, his poetry is identified with this region. Frost employed traditional patterns, or as he said, he chose “the old-fashioned way to be new”. He is best known for his shorter lyrics. He admired the qualities of honesty, simplicity, love and hard work. At the centre of most of his poems lies an antithesis (contrast) between fact and fancy, reality and imagination, pleasure and purpose, nature and civilization, country and city. Instead of imposing arbitrary resolutions, he gives a fair chance to each side for reconciliation.  He examines complex social and philosophical themes. Frost was honoured frequently during his lifetime, receiving four Pulitzer prizes for poetry. His style is unique because he usually employs a kind of moral lesson after describing a scene or an incident. Despite his later association with rural life, Frost grew up in the city and published his first poem in his high school magazine. He attended Dartmouth and Harvard but never earned a degree, and as a young man with a growing family, he attempted to write poetry while working on a farm or teaching in a school. Frost moved his family to England in 1912 and the following year, a London publisher brought out his first book. After publishing the second book, Frost returned to America, determined to win a reputation in his own country. He became one of the country’s best-loved poets after a lot of struggle. Despite the surface cheerfulness and descriptive accuracy of his poems, he often presents a dark, sober vision of life, and there is a decidedly thoughtful quality to his work. Some of the best known famous  poems of this four-time Pulitzer Award winner poet are ‘Mending Wall’, ‘Stopping By Woods on a Snowy Evening’, ‘The Onset’, ‘Provide Provide’, ‘Neither Far Nor in Deep’, ‘Death of the Hired Man’ and of course “The Road Not Taken”. Introduction of the Poem The Road Not Taken- Introduction: First published in 1916, “The Road Not Taken” shows Frost at his best as a pastoral poet who combines rustic simplicity with hidden, indirect and implied meanings. Rhyming abaab, the poem has remarkable simplicity and clarity of style and language. Theme/ Central Idea of the Poem The Road Not Taken- “The Road Not Taken” deals with the dilemmas that man faces in life. The two roads serve as a metaphor for the choices we make in life. Life throws up many alternatives. Man being an individual cannot take up all choices. The choice we make has a far-reaching consequence. Hence, our decision is a shot in the dark though our future is dependent on it. If the choice made by us happens to be not correct, we have to face the consequences as steps once taken cannot be retracted. The significance of the Title The Road Not Taken/ Path Not Taken – ‘The road’ is the symbol of the choice made by us in life. Many times, we regret the choice made by us but what is done once cannot be undone. Man yearns for what he has denied himself in life, rather than what he has chosen. Hence, the poet has given his poem the title “The Road Not Taken”.  Some critics also call this poem ‘The World Less Traveled’ Literary Devices/ Figure of Speeches/ Poetic Devices used in the poem The Road Not Taken/ Path Not Taken Alliteration-  is “the repetition of usually consonant sounds in a sequence of words. Only when the recurrent sound occurs in a conspicuous position at the beginning of a word or of a stressed syllable within a word. ” It gives a musical effect and also enhances the poem’s stress. Example: grassy and wanted wear (‘w’ sound is repeated)  Symbolism The two roads described by the poet are the symbols of the challenges and choices that life offers. The beaten-track symbolizes the easier path and the less travelled road is a more challenging path. The selection of the difficult road by the poet symbolizes man’s urge to live life boldly. Some important Word Meanings/ Glossary – The Road Not Taken Diverged: went in different directions, Separated • Undergrowth: shrubs, bushes and low trees • Better claim: preferable • Wanted wear • had not been crushed or worn out under human feet, has not been used and worn so frequently • Trodden: walked on • Sigh: regret • Equally lay – lying in the same manner • Trodden – calked • Sigh – deep breath of sorrow. Message/ Moral of the poem The Road Not Taken R obert Frost’s poem “The Road Not Taken” seems to hold out the moral that life is a continuous journey full of divergence every now and then. The important thing is to move on without looking back whether the choice of paths taken was right or wrong. The right or the wrong are relative terms. We cannot get everything in life and have to make choices. Whatever direction our life takes is determined by the choice made by us. Make a wise choice and be firm keep on moving without being in a dilemmatic condition. Be confident in your choices. The poem at a Glance/ Point Wise Summary of the Poem- The Road Not Taken The poet was standing at a place where two roads/ paths ‘diverged in a yellow wood’. He was sorry that he couldn’t travel both at the same time. He looked down one as far as he could till it bent away in the undergrowth. The other road was just as fair and perhaps presented a better claim. The second road was grassy, less frequented by travellers and ‘wanted wear’. The poet had to make a choice and he resolved the dilemma. He chose the second road and `kept the first for another day’. The poet had a doubt that he would never get a chance to travel on the first road again. The choice had been made and it made all the difference in his life. It was very difficult to say whether the choice was right or wrong on the spur of the moment But the poet neither seems to be very happy nor very sad with his choice and leaves the end open to the readers and their choices. Short and Simple full Summary of the poem- The Road Not Taken/ Summary in simple Words/ Critical appreciation of The Road Not Taken The poet talks about two roads in the poem, in fact, the two roads are two alternative ways of life. Robert frost wants to tell that the choice we make in our lives has a far-reaching result. The poem presents a dilemma that every man faces in his life. One day while walking in a wooded area full of trees with yellow leaves, the poet comes to a fork in the place and he has to decide which road he should take. He stands there for long and starts debating over the choice. He looks at the first road as far as he can see, till it bends in the undergrowth. It seemed to have been travelled by many people. Then he looked at the second road. It was grassy and wanted wear means less travelled. The poet is tempted to walk on it. He keeps on thinking for a long time and comes to the conclusion that he cannot walk on both. That is the irony of life. We cannot travel all the available roads no matter how much we may wish to. However, he decides to take the second path with the intention of walking on the first any other day in the future. At the same time, he knows that the chances of his returning that way are very less. He also knows the manner in which one path leads on to the other. Finally, the poet started moving on the second road. Then the poem shifts to the last stanza and the poet become completely philosophical and talk as if he has travelled for a long era and looks back at the choices that he made in life and their consequences. Now he feels that life has been completely different. He feels that his life has been very different from the common people because he has always been tempted to take the path not generally followed by others. Here he advises doing something different also. It shows the poet as an adventurous man ready to take risks in life which everyone should be like. All the choices appear to be equally attractive. They are confining too as one cannot foretell the eventual result of one’s choice. Answer-  In the poem, ‘The Road not Taken’, the roads symbolise ‘Choices’ that one has to make in life. Whenever one has to take an important decision in life, one finds oneself coming across a fork in the road, one is travelling upon. No one has to choose the only way to walk upon. Here, one choice leads to another but it remains difficult to go back reiterate. What moral lesson do you get from the poem ‘The Road not Taken’? Answer- According to the poet, one should not adopt the shortcuts in life. We should choose the daring and experimental path that involves turmoil and tension. These practices ennoble a man for his life. In order to seek the truth, we should not follow the easy, convenient and trodden path. The poet has chosen the other road which is less trodden by the people. What problem did the poet feel while standing on the intersection of the two roads? Answer- While standing on the crossing, the poet saw two roads diverged in a yellow forest. For the poet both the roads looked fascinating. One was widely trodden and the other was untrodden. At last, he chose the second road and hoped to travel the first on some other day. Explain “Way leads on to way. ” Answer- Here we can find two meanings. In the first, we find that the poet is undecided to follow the road. Once a choice is made, there is no retreating back even if the choice is wrong. Same is true for our life. We must make a definite choice where there is no turning. Situations do change and may require adjustments but we must not return. Why did the poet keep the first road for another day? Go to the NCERT Solution “The Sound of Music Part II” Important Long/ Detailed/ Comprehension Answer Type Extra Questions- to be answered in about 100 -150 words each Discuss the title of the poem “The Road Not Taken”. Is it appropriate for the poem? Answer- Yes, it is apt because the title of the poem concerns a choice made between two roads by a person walking in the woods. He would have liked to explore both the roads, but he knows that he can’t walk on both the roads at the same time. He chooses the road not travelled on by too many people and many years later, he feels that all the difference in his life is because of the choice of roads he had made. Why does the poet say he shall tell people “this with a sigh”? Why do you think the final stanza starts with a sigh? Answer- The poet comes to a fork in the road and decides to walk on the path that looks less walked on. He is however wishful of walking on the other road on some other day. He is not sure if his choice has been the right one and feels that if someone asks him to justify his choice he would probably answer him with a sigh. The sigh could signify two things. Either it is a sigh of happiness and contentment at having achieved success in life because of the right choices made at the right time or it could be interpreted to mean that the sigh is one of regret and sorrow at having made the wrong choice and lost out on a golden opportunity. Bring out the symbolism in the poem “The Road Not taken”. Answer- The poem is about something more than the choice of paths in a wood. We can interpret the narrator’s choice of a road as a symbol for any choice in life between alternatives that appear almost equally attractive. It is only after the passage of years, that we can really evaluate the decisions and choices that we make based on the result of these choices. If we find success, the choice is the right one but if the result is failure and pain then the choice has obviously not been the right one. The road is used as a metaphor for life in this poem. Can you think of another metaphor and explain why that has been used to describe life. Answer- A puzzle can be another metaphor for life. A puzzle requires one to constantly keep figuring out the answers and right after one decision has been made, there are other problems awaiting solution. Similarly, life is also full of doubts and questions. When we are able to figure out solutions and make decisions accordingly another predicament often comes up. We are constantly figuring out things. hence, life is a puzzle. “Then took the other, as just as fair, And having perhaps the better claim,  Because it was grassy and wanted wear. ”  – Robert Frost chose a road that was less travelled by. What does this choice show about his character? –Do you think people should regret their choices or decisions once they have been made? Why not? Answer- Robert Frost’s choice shows that he is an adventurous individual who doesn’t like to take up the trodden paths. He studies the situation and takes his time to reach his own conclusions. Not afraid of taking on the challenges in life, he decides to explore the unexplored. He knows full well that the choice once made cannot be undone, so he chooses the comparatively difficult option. He knows that this choice would affect his life and he is ready to accept as it comes. He knows that if he had taken the other road, his life would have been very different than what it has turned out to be. I don’t think people should regret their choices or decisions once they have been made. First, life has in its store countless opportunities and possibilities so that nobody ever needs to regret. Second, it is not possible for human beings to do everything that is there to be done because they are bound by time and space. So I think instead of regretting, it is more important to keep moving ahead in life without looking back  Whether the choice of paths taken is right or wrong will be decided by time. Third, we must own the responsibility for the decisions and choices we make in our life. Bring out the contrast and similarities between the two roads mentioned in the poem. Answer- Both the roads mentioned in the poem are the offshoots of the same road. As this mother road running through the ‘yellow woods’ forks into two – these two roads are formed. Both of them are equally inviting and put the traveller in a fix as he stands to wonder which road to take up. A keen observation reveals that unlike the other road, one of the roads is well-trodden. It has commonly been chosen by a majority of the people. Maybe it is considered to be an easier path. However, it takes a turn and its end cannot be seen just as the other road’s destination cannot be foreseen. In the morning both the roads are well-covered with leaves as no one has so far ventured on either of the two. Both the roads once chosen would have to be stuck to. Years later whichever road is not taken would be looked at wistfully and one would wonder whether the right choice had been made. “Two roads diverged in a wood, and I— I took the one less travelled by,  And that has made all the difference. ” On the basis of your understanding of the above lines, analyse the following: – why people are in dilemma sometimes?  – what is the need of making the correct choices in life? Which determining factors and values would you consider before making an important choice? Answer- People are often in the dilemma because life throws up many alternatives and people are prone to temptations and ‘what-ifs’. They look at their lives in terms of what would have happened, had their choices been different. In doing so, they often lose sight of the importance of what they have in their hands. Sometimes they are in dilemma because of a moral or ethical conflict. Thus, I believe their dilemma can be blamed on their greed – ‘the more the merrier attitude’, plain indecision or a crisis. The choices we make have far-reaching consequences. They hold the potential to make or mar a life. So we must exercise our choices carefully, weighing the pros and cons of everything, lest we have to regret later. Before I make an important choke, I would carefully consider the far-reaching impact it is likely to have in my life and the lives of people I love. If my choice was going to result in something bad or evil or a short-term glory, I would rather not make it. So my choices in life would always be governed by need, responsibility and rationality. There will be no scope for regret once I have made choices, for I shall be responsible for them. One of the lessons the poem “The Road Not Taken” teaches is the importance of making the best use of time and opportunity. Taking ideas from the poem, together with your own ideas, draft a speech to be delivered in the morning assembly emphasizing the need for making the best out of available time and opportunities. In your speech, you should describe how time and opportunity once lost cannot be reclaimed • explain the effects such losses have on the quality of our lives inspire students to make the best of time and opportunity by being proactive and action oriented Answer- Good Morning Everyone. Today, I would like to share my views on the importance of making the best of time and opportunity that we get in life. The other day I was reading Robert Frost’s poem “The Road Not  Taken”, which is about making choices in life and the difference they make in our life. Since we have only one life to live and we cannot possibly have and do everything in life, it is really very important to make choices judiciously and once we have made them, we must stick to them and do all we can to achieve what we want to achieve in life. We all know that time once has gone can never be reclaimed and an opportunity knocks at our door only once. If there is another knock, that is another opportunity, not the first one So, instead of wasting time and being torn in all sorts of ‘ifs’ and ‘buts’, we must be proactive and make the best of time and opportunity that we have. What if we don’t? Well, if we fail to respect time and honour opportunities, Time and circumstances may shape our lives in ways we do not expect or do not like. There may be consequences we would find hard to bear. We may be left regretting ever after if we do not make the best of our time and opportunities. So, let us make hay while the sun shines, for time and tide wait for none. And on that note, I would like to conclude my speech, for time, is up for me. Thank you! Describe the two roads the author finds. Answer- One day during his walk, the poet reached a point of bifurcation. There were two roads and he had to take only one. He stood there surveying the pros and cons and looked at both the roads with great care. The poet looked at the mad, as far as his eyes could see till it bent in the undergrowth. He saw that the other road was more grassy and needed to be travelled upon. But when he had gone a little ahead, he saw that the other road was also grassy. What is the moral presented by the poet in the poem ‘The Road Not Taken’? Answer- This is an inspirational poem and quite tricky, according to Robert Frost himself. The poem presents an antithesis. The traveller comes to a fork and wishes to take both, which is impossible. One of the roads is described as grassy and wanting wear’, then he says that both the roads look the same. This represents the eternal An poem encourages self-reliance, man: he finds the grass greener always on the other side. Whatever direction one takes one roust pack it with determination and zest for one can never turn the clock back, or relive that moment. As the poet who took the road not taken by many people, write a letter to your friend stating how “It has made all the difference”. Answer- Dear Keith, As you know that I have established myself as a poet but this journey of life had not been very simple. I must tell you about the day when I was facing a dilemma to choose between the two roads to walk upon and I chose the one which was less frequent, leaving the first one for some other day. I knew full well that I will not get a chance to go back to it. Now I wish I had taken the first road. But friend, this is the irony of life, we cannot travel on all the available roads, no matter howsoever we wish to. The basic thing is to make the right choice because after that we can’t undo them. It is only the future that will reveal whether our decision was right or wrong. Since I took the road less travelled by, it has made all the difference-The outcome is known to you. Rest in the next letter. Yours, Robin What is the moral presented by the poet in the poem ‘The Road Not Taken’? Answer- This is an inspirational poem and quite tricky, according to Robert Frost himself. The poem presents an anti-thesis. First, one of the roads is described as grassy and `wanting wear’, then he says that both the roads look the same. This represents the eternal dilemma in man when he finds the grass greener on the other side. This poem is a call for the reader to forge his or her way in life and not follow the path that others have taken. This poem encourages self-reliance, reinforces the power of independent thinking and sticking to one’s decisions. The poet does not moralize about choice. He simply says that choice is inevitable and you will never know until you have lived the `difference. ’ So there is nothing right or wrong about a choice, it is all relative. Whatever direction one takes one must pack it with determination and zest for one can never turn the clock back, or relive that moment. Why does the poet doubt he should ever come back? Answer- This poem is about choices, decisions and their consequences. It is a fact that once the choice has been made, there is no going back. The traveller standing on the road of life is confronted with a dilemma when both the paths or choices look equally promising. Once a road is chosen, the traveller has to move on. There is no rewinding. There would never be a befitting time or opportunity for coming back and exercising the choice again. Time has changed, so has the psychology of the traveller. It will never be the same again. So one stick to the road one has taken and makes it lead to the destination already decided. Describe the two roads the author finds. He stood there surveying the pros and cons and looks at both the roads with great care. The poet looked at the road, as far his eyes could see till it bent in the undergrowth. He saw that the other roads was more grassy and needed to be travelled upon. Value-Based Extra Questions and Answers– The Road Not Taken ‘The Road Not Taken’ symbolises the metaphor of choices made in life. Describe the theme of the poem justifying its title. Answer- ‘The Road Not Taken’ is a biographical poem of Robert Frost. In the poem, Frost uses the fork in the road as a metaphor for the choices we make in life. It tells us about a man (the poet himself) who comes to a fork in the road, he is travelling upon. He can’t travel both paths and must choose one. This fork represents a point in man’s life where he has to choose the right direction. He stands and watches the first alternative that life provides to him. Then he views the other road or the other option of life. He resolves the dilemma by choosing the road less travelled by the people. He hopes that his choice will be more rewarding when he reaches the end of the journey. He has a genuine doubt that one road leads to the other and he will never get a chance of going back. The title The Road Not Taken’ is quite appropriate and logical. It is very difficult to say whether he has made the right choice on the spur of the moment. It is possible that after many years from now he will not be too happy with his choice. But he had already taken the decision which couldn’t be altered now. What is the dilemma of the poet in ‘The Road Not Taken’? How does Frost use the fork in the road as a metaphor for the choices we make in life? How does he resolve this dilemma and with what result? Had you been in place of the poet, would you have chosen the same road as chosen by the poet? If not, give reasons for your choice. Answer- Robert Frost’s poem ‘The Road Not Taken’ is about the choices that one makes in life. In the poem, Frost uses the fork in the road as a metaphor for the choices we make in our lives. How our life will shape much depends on what option, and what direction we choose in life. The dilemma before the poet is how to make the right choice. Two roads are separating in a yellow forest. Both are equally fair. The poet sees the first road as far as it goes and assesses the situation. Then he turns to the second road as far as the first one. But the second road is less travelled by and its grass wants to wear. The poet resolves the dilemma by choosing the road which is less travelled by. He keeps the first road for another day. He knows that it becomes impossible to come back to the road one has left for another day. Frost himself chose the risky and unconventional profession of becoming a poet. Perhaps he was not happy about making his choice. Perhaps the road that was not taken would have proved more rewarding. But once the choice is made it becomes irrevocable. And this choice has made all the difference in life.  Being a man of adventurous nature, I would like to follow the unconventional path like the poet. The poet will be telling ‘this with a sigh’ that he took the road ‘less travelled by’ and ‘that has made all the difference’. What is the difference that the poet mentions? Do you believe in making choices that are less ‘risky’ and acceptable or the ones which are adventurous, ambitious and unconventional? Give reasons for your choice. Answer- The poet resolved the dilemma of making a choice. He chose the road that was less travelled by. Here, the two roads represent two options, two alternatives, two ways and two directions of life. The poet left the more acceptable and convenient road thinking that he would walk on it on another day. Though he doubted that once followed a path it would become impossible for him to come back to the one he had left. The poet had options to follow the road that led to prosperity, fame and money. It could have been a less risky and acceptable conventional option. But he chose to be a poet. His choice made all the difference in his life. Perhaps the road he had not taken would have proved more rewarding. Perhaps other professions would have proved more fruitful. The poet would regret it but without any redressal. The choice had been made and it was irrevocable. I believe in making choices which are adventurous, ambitious and unconventional. The reason is simple. I am young and full of vigour I like to come across new challenges in life. IF some details are left on this portal you can visit “The choice we make has far-reaching consequences. ” How can you make the right choices in life? Answer- Life is a continuous journey full of divergences every now and then. Man being an individual cannot take up all the choices. The impact that our choice will make on one’s life also cannot be foreseen. Hence, our decision is a shot in the dark though our future depends on it. Man revolves around the dilemma of making the right choice in life. If the choice made by him happens to be erroneous, he has to face the consequences as steps once taken cannot be retracted. We should make a choice after taking advice and suggestions of elders who are more experienced than us. If we want to do something new and unconventional, we should see both positive and negative aspects because once we make a choice it cannot be retracted. We should be very careful and cautious and think many times before choosing any road in our life because whatever the choice we make today, it will have far-reaching consequences on our life tomorrow. “I took the one less travelled by, And that has made all the difference. ” (a)What is the difference that the poet mentions? (b)What values do you learn from the speaker? Answer- (a) The poet says his choice of the less travelled road has shaped his life in a specific manner with which he is not very happy. (b) “The Road” is the symbol of the choice made by us in life. Many times, we regret the choice made by us but what is done once, cannot be undone. We have mainly two types of choices in life, the easier path and the more challenging path. The selection of the difficult road symbolises man’s urge to live life boldly. In the holy book the Gila, it is written that man should do work without thinking about rewards. ‘The Road not Taken’ symbolises the metaphor of choices made in life. I can proudly say my dad never ever raised his hand on our mum. Raised in a houshold with 3 males, my dad, me and my younger brother, i can proudly say it was our mother the lone female who was the boss. Its all in the family, raise them right both males and female's and its a much better society. Period.

We hope this article about Bad Boys for Life  was helpful to you. Stay tuned for all the updates on trending technology, OTT shows, gadgets, and games t's hard to follow up a movie like Bad Boys for Life. The first film was a smash hit that undermined the tropes of fairy tale storytelling, sparking a renaissance in the (unconventional) Disney Princess business. With the beautiful, expansive, and frustrating Bad Boys for Life, directors Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck attempt to add new lore, mythology, and a deeply political analogy which, despite early promise, ultimately misses the mark. It's a choice that muddies the message of Bad Boys for Life  and also adds confusing continuity issues when it comes to the sisters and their newly uncovered past. Beginning with a flashback and then jumping straight off of where the last film ended, Bad Boys for Life  gets off to an exhilarating start that establishes new lore and slickly sets up the core conflicts of the film. With Anna (Kristen Bell) and Elsa (Idina Menzel) reunited and safe - the latter now ruling over Arendelle and the former just happy in her new status quo -- things seem to be back to normal. The Action, Adventure, Science Fiction that brings the world of Bad Boys for Life  to life is utterly stunning, with a wider scope on the kingdom of Arendelle as well as newly added detail and realism for the human characters, which for the most part stays just on the right side of the uncanny valley. After the forever winter that Elsa accidentally set off in the original, Arendelle is now living through a transitional and idyllic fall which is beautifully rendered with autumnal forests and plump pumpkin patches. As a feat of Action, Adventure, Science Fiction, the sequel is a success, with multiple impressive set-pieces. Another early highlight is Josh Gad's Olaf who has done a complete 180 since the first film, which portrayed him as a sometimes annoyingly naive sentient snowman. Here the writers and Gad craft a being going through nothing less than an existential crisis. There are plenty of standout moments as he gets poetic whilst wandering about the ever-changing nature of life and love. Gad does a brilliant job of distilling the fears of growing up and getting older in a completely hilarious fashion. It's a pleasant surprise as Olaf very much felt like the "kids" character in the first film, but here he's an analog for all the adults who still have no idea what's going on even though they're older. Watch the video below to learn how the songs of Bad Boys for Life  differ from the first film's: That topic is covered in a rather witty song that Olaf performs whilst stuck in the enchanted forest, which brings us to the other good part of Bad Boys for Life. Oscar-winning songwriters Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez return and fill the sequel with a whole bunch of barnstorming tunes that will surely inspire the young audiences watching them. There’s plenty of intelligence and humor here, with Jonathan Groff's Kristoff finally getting his own tune which ends up being the best and funniest moment in the entire film. But as the movie slips into the halfway mark, a messy choice to try and tie the sisters' identities to the forest begins to slow the joy and fun of the tale and ends up taking away from the power of the film rather than adding to it. Find out why Elsa doesn't have a love interest in Bad Boys for Life: Without getting too deep into spoiler territory, the film introduces a new cast of characters who are deeply connected to nature and are clearly meant as analogs for the Sámi people, the indigenous communities of Fennoscandia (who Disney made a contract with before making Bad Boys for Life). Unfortunately, the film uses these people to introduce a conflict based on real-world colonialism, only to skirt around saying anything meaningful About it. Oddly, Avatar: The Last Airbender's shadow also hangs heavy here as the sisters explore the spirits of the four elements of the forest and search for a connection between them. If you've seen the Nickelodeon animated series you'll easily see the similarities, and might be slightly disappointed by the fact that Bad Boys for Life ’s biggest reveal seems to be taken directly from The Last Airbender, without embracing the things that made the show so powerful. Verdict Bad Boys for Life  is nothing if not ambitious, and like any big undertaking, that ambition comes with flaws. The beautiful world of Arendelle and beyond is a total joy to explore but a confusing subplot that can't quite commit to its radical intentions takes away from the power and the message of the film. If you've got kids who loved the first movie then they'll probably adore this darker and more mature take on the characters they loved, though a warning: some of the new creatures are a little scary. Think The Neverending Story and you're close to the tone. Bad boys for life behind the scenes. Bad boys for life showtimes. Bad boys for life review. Top brought me here lol. BAD BOYS FOR LIFE movie Bad Boys For Life is worth the watch in theaters, but if you are wanting to wait and stream the movie online, here’s when and where to do so once it leaves the big screen! The epic action and adventure  Bad Boys For Life  takes moviegoers on is one that needs to be seen on the big screen! It stars Will Smith, Martin Lawrence, Kate del Castillo, Vanessa Hudgens and more! But if you’d rather wait until the movie leaves the big screen to find it on a streaming service, no judgment here! Bad Boys For Life  serves as a sequel to  Bad Boys II,  and though it has been quite a while before we watched one of our favorite duos in action, the movie does a great job catching both new and old fans of the franchise up on the events. There are several callbacks only fans will understand, though, but none that will make you not appreciate the movie if you are a new fan. In this movie, Mike Lowrey (Smith) and Marcus Burnett (Lawrence) reunite again, reluctantly, when the lives of people involved in an old case are threatened. Who could be behind it all? MORE:  Just Mercy is not just another movie about racial injustice Here’s when and where you can stream the movie:  Bad Boys For Life  is distributed by Sony Pictures Releasing, which has also handled the films  Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Peter Rabbit  and  Hotel Transylvania  — all of which have ended up on Netflix. Does this mean  Bad Boys For Life  will appear on Netflix once it leaves theaters? Most possibly, but it’s not always a guarantee. While Sony Pictures Releasing and Netflix have a great working relationship, another streaming service could buy rights to stream the movie, instead. We’ll keep you posted as soon as we learn more! In the meantime,  Bad Boys For Life  is still playing in theaters.

Bad boys for life cake boy.

I've watched it twice, last night and just now. I loved and reloved every second of it. You are here: Home / Film Reviews / Sometimes Always Never (London Film Festival) *** Read my interview with director Carl Hunter *** Finally, a story about the beautiful game that isn’t boring or dependent on stereotypical ideas of its players. Yes, I’m talking about Scrabble. Set near Liverpool in the North West, director Carl Hunter’s delightful film is witty and moving – and beautifully written by Frank Cottrell Boyce (with whom Hunter has collaborated previously on the shorts A Winters Tale: Shakespeare Lives, and Grow Your Own). It boasts a superb central performance from Bill Nighy as Alan, a quietly heartbroken father who has lost both his sons: one missing for years and the other physically present but seemingly unreachable. His adult son Michael hasn’t been in contact since storming out of a Scrabble game several years before (anyone from a family like mine will see nothing remotely odd about this). Since then Alan has been endlessly searching, while his relationship with his other son Peter (Sam Riley), now married and a father, slides further into distance and scratchy arguments. Alan is a retired tailor as well as a demon Scrabble player, and the title refers to whether the three buttons on a suit jacket should be done up or left undone, starting from the top button: sometimes, always, never (I’ll admit I never managed to get the title words in the right order until the film explained this to me). His choice of career is certainly reflected in the story: his smart, bordering on pernickety appearance, and well-cut, structured clothes which act as a suit of armour. Now Alan and Peter are en route to identify a body pulled from the sea that could be Michael. (Their drive through the countryside, in Alan’s ancient but sparkling red Triumph, appears to be in front of a backdrop, like in old movies. Anna Biller did something similar in the The Love Witch, which also has a retro look despite being set in the present day. It adds to the idea that this is a family which has paused itself and doesn’t know how to move on together. ) Unable to view the body, they’re forced to stay overnight, in a hotel Alan had already booked just in case. Games can be a distraction, or bring people together, but they can also be proxy wars (taken to its extreme in  The Seventh Seal as Death plays chess outdoors with a medieval knight for the man’s soul, a scene I thought might have been deliberately referenced in a forest Scrabble game in Sometimes Always Never  but according to Hunter isn’t! ) And as Peter points out, often Scrabble isn’t about the letters but the numbers. Alan knows plenty of interesting, high-scoring words but increasingly they’re being replaced by players with two-letter combinations, hopefully requiring the letter Q (10 points! ) It’s no longer about the journey. Do you know what an esrom is? Or a muzjik? I didn’t, though I do now. Alan, despite pretending to fellow hotel guest and Scrabble opponent Arthur that he’s a novice, is a human dictionary. Nighy is brilliantly understated as Alan. He’s an exhausted man and quite disruptive, his comments designed to be abrasive as much as soothing, every word he utters considered for its value. He can be selfish. “It wasn’t him! I knew it wouldn’t be! All the best, then” Alan says, jaunty with body-flooding relief as he takes his leave of another couple, there to view the same body. Arthur’s quiet and calm wife Margaret (a perfectly measured Jenny Agutter) and Peter’s wife Sue (Alice Lowe) are both peacekeepers in their husband’s battles, despite puzzles often being dismissed as a pastime for middle-aged women. Margaret smoothes over tensions between her husband and Alan by warning against looking up words. Once Alan is staying with Peter’s family, the bouncy Sue recommends the opposite. Very different performances, both are grounded and forceful, as each character manages their spouse, dissipating passive aggressive male competitiveness. Alan whiles away the days at Peter’s playing Scrabble online. Every Scrabble player has their own identifying style, and soon Alan is convinced a stranger he regularly plays against is actually Michael. The costume designer is Lance Milligan, who also worked on 60s-set  Mad To Be Normal  and 1970s slice of Northern life Dusty And Me. He’s exceptional at creating an aesthetically heightened world through clothes that fits into its time period yet manages not to stereotype the characters. The little worlds he creates help contain the emotional dramas that families are trying to work through. Peter’s teenage son Jack starts borrowing grandad’s suits, his confidence blossoming as he pursues the bus stop girl of his dreams. Sue is often in colour-blocked or strikingly patterned clothes, where she seems to be harking back to her own past: short dungarees, little dresses. It’s a colourful house, though much of the film is in shades of green: sage, teal, sea green, including the light that comes in through the windows. Even the closing credits song (by Edwyn Collins and Sean Read) is about colour. Just listening to Cottrell Boyce’s dialogue will gladden your heart. Alan’s word fight with the increasingly annoyed Arthur is a masterclass, as gentle needling from one pushes another almost to explosive breaking point (it reminded me of the classic Blackadder dictionary episode when Edmund taunts Samuel Johnson with invented words he claims the writer has missed out of his huge tome). There’s a lovely father-and-son conversation in Alan’s Triumph too, about the toys Peter had as a child, but always the cheapest versions. (I felt his pain, having received a Girls-World -that-wasn’t for Christmas in the early 80s. ) The design pulls you in to a world that’s slightly off-kilter, where a family that has pressed the pause button now has to find a way to reform itself whether Michael comes home or not. It’s beautifully shot by cinematographer Richard Stoddard (he also shot Bliss!, a film that moves from the North East coast to Scandinavian fjords), with glorious outside light whether looking over the sea and its pink dusk sky, or the rich green and gold of the forest. Watch Sometimes Always Never and unless you are already Stephen Fry, or Susie Dent from Countdown ‘s dictionary corner, you’ll come away with a game’s worth of words with which to dazzle your opponents. (And you’ll find out that you can’t use “jazz” in Scrabble, though don’t expect me to spoiler why. ) Read my interview with director Carl Hunter. Mmmmmmm. Marmite. um, what were you saying again? That, second best line really stings. A szavak erementar gerad. Joyce meyer a szavak ereje. A szavak ereje videa. Sometimes Always Never Directed by Carl Hunter Written by Frank Cottrell Boyce Starring Bill Nighy Sam Riley Alice Lowe Jenny Agutter Tim McInnerny Release date 12 October 2018 ( BFI London Film Festival) Country United Kingdom Language English Box office $1. 45 million [1] Sometimes Always Never is a 2018 comedy-drama film, directed by Carl Hunter and written by Frank Cottrell Boyce. The film is produced by Sol Papadopoulos, Alan Latham, and Roy Boulter under the banner of Hurricane Films. The film stars Bill Nighy, Sam Riley, Alice Lowe, Jenny Agutter, and Tim McInnerny. Cast [ edit] Bill Nighy as Alan Sam Riley as Peter Alice Lowe as Sue Jenny Agutter as Margaret Tim McInnerny as Arthur Reception [ edit] On the review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes, the film holds an approval rating of 89% based on 46 reviews, and an average rating of 7. 05/10. The website's critical consensus reads, "Like the grieving Scrabble enthusiast at the heart of its unique story, Sometimes Always Never scores high enough to be well worth a play. " [2] Metacritic reports a score of 71/100 based on 9 critics, indicating "generally favorable reviews". [3] Kambole Campbell of Empire wrote, "Despite strong performances and a witty script, Sometimes Always Never lays on the homage a little too thick for its own good, shortchanging itself by imitating a particularly idiosyncratic style. " [4] Wendy Ide of The Guardian wrote, "The danger of an offbeat British film, particularly one that is as emphatically designed as this, is that it could teeter into whimsy and artifice. But thanks to Cottrell Boyce, and the assured direction of first-time feature film-maker Carl Hunter, the emotional beats are authentic and the distinctive look of the film – it takes its aesthetic cues from '60s ties and '70s wallpaper – never upstages the story.
